My hope is to one day open my own practice as a nurse practitioner in family medicine. I also recently got accepted to UMass Chan Medical School, where I will learn the skills to become a Doctor of Nursing Practice. I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology and minored in chemistry at Rhode Island College. What professional accomplishment are you most proud of? As I prepare to leave Brown this August to pursue a doctorate degree, I currently assist in onboarding new staff members who will take my place, training them to navigate our system of electronic health records and teaching them the responsibilities they must tackle to become top-notch medical assistants. On the administrative side, I also answer phones and schedule medical appointments. As time flew by, I had the opportunity to join the Health Services team, recording vitals, performing waived tests, and making sure patient flow runs smoothly, working diligently to ensure that our healthcare providers’ patients are ready to be seen. Before working at Health Services, I was a clinical team lead at Advanced Clinical, managing multiple COVID-19 testing sites all over campus since 2020. I’ve been a medical assistant at Brown for 1.3 years and counting, but I’ve been involved in the Brown community for the past 3 years. Briefly describe what you do and how long you have been at Brown.
